It is recommended that you review the prerequisites for the Corsa Security Orchestrator (CSO) virtual appliance before starting any installation.
The following steps use the Virtual Machine Manager, also known as virt-manager, to illustrate the remote installation of the Corsa Security Orchestrator on KVM. The use of virt-manager is not required, it is merely used for illustration purposes.
Create a new virtual machine
- On the Virtual Machine Manager, select Create a new virtual machine
- Select Import existing disk image and click Forward
- Browse and select the the CSO qcow2 file (i.e. storage volume) you downloaded in the previous step and click Choose Volume
- Choose the operating system you are installing, select 'Ubuntu 20.04' if it is available, or use the 'Generic OS' entry
- Click Forward
Choose Memory and CPU settings
- Choose the Memory and CPU, refer to the prerequisites for this information.
Begin Installation
- Enter a descriptive Name for the CSO virtual appliance
- If there is additional configuration you'd like to do for your specific installation, select Customize configuration before install (this guide does not discuss custom configurations)
- Make a Network selection by selecting the bridge for the management interface
- Click Finish
Autostart the CSO on host boot up
- On the Virtual Machine Manager, select your new virtual machine so it is highlighted
- Click Open to show the virtual hardware details
- Click Boot Options to show the Details tab
- Select Autostart to start virtual machine on host boot up
- Click Apply
Open the Corsa Security Orchestrator console
- On the Virtual Machine Manager, select your new virtual machine so it is highlighted
- Click Open to show the graphical console
The next step is to set up network access to the Corsa Security Orchestrator.
