This article describes the installation of a Corsa Security supplied Dell EMC PowerEdge R640 and it's connectivity to management networks. You should be familiar with the R640 after reading the Dell EMC PowerEdge R640 Overview.
- Rack and power on the Dell EMC PowerEdge R640 server.
- Attach the Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC) interface to your management network. The iDRAC port can be found on the back panel of the Dell EMC PowerEdge R640. The iDRAC must be reachable from the Corsa Security Orchestrator that will manage the server.
- Attach Integrated NIC Slot 1 Port 1 to your management network. This port can be found on the back panel of the Dell EMC PowerEdge R640 and must be reachable from the Corsa Security Orchestrator that will manage the server.
- Set the static IP address of the iDRAC interface. Note that the iDRAC interface is shipped with DHCP enabled so you will need to access the iDRAC interface temporarily using the IP address provided by your DHCP server or via the default hostname (i.e. https://idrac-<service-tag>) if a dynamic DNS service is present. The iDRAC default username and password is root and calvin respectively.
- Alternatively you can access the iDRAC interface over the direct USB connection to set the static IP address of the iDRAC interface.
